WHAT ARE THE POSITIONS ALL ABOUT?
The DFO Organization and Classification Centre of Expertise (OCCOE) team is looking for analytical and detail-oriented individuals who want to broaden their work experience within the Human Resources field. As a Job Description Writer and Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with management across the Department in the development of job descriptions. You will also have the opportunity to work in a team environment on various classification related projects, on the development of work tools to expand the standardization of job descriptions within the Department, and to help innovate HR and simplify our processes.

Intent of the process

The intent is to staff one position on a permanent basis. The work location will be determined according to the location of residence of the selected person. A pool of qualified candidates will also be created for future appointments.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in journalism, translation, technical writing, literature, languages, education, administration or any other area of study deemed acceptable by the employer.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
Experience in conducting research used to prepare written documents.

Experience in editing and writing various types of documents, such as reports, job descriptions, briefing notes, memos, or technical/scientific documents.

Bilingual - Imperative (CCB/CCB)

Information on language requirements

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of guidelines and best practices in editing and writing technical documents and articles.

ABILITY
Ability to communicate effectively orally;
Ability to communicate effectively in writing;
Ability to analyze, compare and summarize information;
Ability to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and to meet deadlines.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an area of study deemed acceptable by the employer.

Knowledge of the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (OCHRO) guidelines related to job description writing.

Experience in providing job description writing services.

Experience with a Human Resources Management System (such as PeopleSoft).

Experience with the use of a Human Resources database.

Experience in conducting interviews in order to collect information.
