Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is looking for a dynamic, strategic, forward-thinking Assistant Deputy Minister to lead the Alberta Region team and contribute to our continued success as a workplace of choice.
About the role:
The Assistant Deputy Minister, Alberta Region reports to the Deputy Minister and is accountable for delivering WD’s economic development programs in Alberta. This key leadership position influences others to achieve government of Canada interests, directs grants and contributions programs and policies, as well as develops and implements strategic investments in the Department’s priority areas of innovation, indigenous economic growth, trade and investment and defence procurement.

You are a visionary leader, who promotes innovation and guides change. With your entrepreneurial spirit and strong integrity, you mobilize staff and achieve results. You are an experienced relationship builder and collaborator and maintain partnerships. You have a depth of management experience that demonstrates significant skill in managing human and financial resources.
