The creation of the Department of Indigenous Services Canada is an important development in our renewed relationship with Indigenous peoples. This process may be used to establish a pool of partially and or fully qualified candidates to staff similar positions (on a permanent, term, acting, assignments/secondments, deployments or casual basis). In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of post-secondary school training with acceptable specialization in social science or statistics, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Recent and significant experience* working in a community or hospital pharmacy or drug benefit or health insurance plan.

Recent and significant experience* in providing efficient advice or services to health professionals, such as physicians or pharmacists, AND as well to patients or clients.

Experience conducting research using print and online research material and reference tools.

Experience using databases.

*Recent and significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities which would normally be acquired over a period of approximately two (2) years within the last five (5 years).

Experience in working with Health Information Claims Processing Systems (HICPS).

Experience working with a health claims processing system.

Knowledge of health issues facing First Nations, Inuit or Metis people.

In alignment with the APEP in support of strategically increasing Aboriginal representation in areas having the most impact on program delivery and health outcomes of First Nations Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) target population, selection may be limited to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.
