Work environment

The Department of National Defence (DND) is one of the largest federal government employers. DND's role is to provide services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations and missions at home and abroad. As a civilian employee, you will be an essential part of the Defence Team.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff 1 indeterminate position in Cold Lake, Alberta. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions, with varying tenures in various locations.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in researching, and applying administrative acts, regulations or policies.

Experience in providing advice and guidance to managers and supervisors on administrative policies and procedures.

Experience in providing administrative services to managers such as preparing correspondence, briefing notes and/or reports.

Experience in using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience:
Experience in planning and managing a budget including exercising financial signing authorities as in sections 32 or 34 of the FAA.

Experience in using Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).

Experience in processing staffing actions (e.g. indeterminate, determinate, acting and casual appointments, deployments, student employment, etc.).

Experience in researching, and applying human resources acts, regulations or policies.

Experience in using a human resource management system application, such as, but not limited to Human Resource Management System (HRMS) such as PeopleSoft.

Experience in supervising.
