As the Geoinformatics Expert / Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
►Serving as an expert/authority to plan and manage geoinformatics services, including GIS Information Management, GIS production services and publications.
►Leading a team of technical specialists, developing short and long-term goals, guiding and reporting on team activities, providing input for program planning and strategic directions.
►Managing and providing scientific leadership in GSC-wide projects on geospatial data integration.
►Directing the development and implementation of new methods and techniques for research and interpretation of geospatial data.
►Making recommendations to management on technology and HR requirements.

►Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in geoscience or a field of science or engineering relevant to the position (eg. geographic information or geography).
►Significant* work experience in project planning and coordination.
►Significant* work experience conducting spatial analysis and GIS map production.
►Significant* work experience managing geoscience data and related information.
►Significant* work experience conducting research analysis.
►Significant* work experience providing advice to management in the form of briefing notes, reports and/or presentations
►Significant* work experience in managing financial and human resources.
*Significant means: at least 5 years work experience within the last 7 years.
Note: Work experience must have been achieved through a working environment and not through a course, educational program or internship work terms.

►Experience supervising teams of 5 or more persons.
►Experience preparing technical contracts and evaluating deliverables.
►Experience automating geoprocessing tasks.
►Knowledge of workflow processes used in cartographic map work.
►Knowledge of Canadian Geospatial Standards and Operational Policies.
►Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence
