Candidates must answer the screening questions. The screening questions will be the only tool used for screening in this process. The answers to the screening questions must clearly demonstrate with concrete examples (what, why, how, for who, where, when and for how long) in what ways the candidates meet ALL of the essential experience and education qualifications. The immediate intent of this poster is to fill an English Essential EG-06 position on a specified period basis. Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff one position for a specified period, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures, security requirements and conditions of employment within Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. Education:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an environmental health related discipline.
Occupational Certification:
• Currently holding a certificate issued by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
Experience:
• Considerable experience in conducting inspections and investigations in the areas of food safety, drinking water safety, and communicable disease control.
• Experience in interpreting legislation, guidelines, standards related to environmental health.
Considerable experience* is referred to as having been obtained over a period of three years within the last five years.
Knowledge:
• Knowledge in the areas of drinking water safety, food safety, and communicable disease control.
• Knowledge of principles and methods utilized in the field of environmental health.
Abilities:
• Ability to review and synthesize information.
• Ability to prepare and present information to various stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
