This process will be used to staff similar positions within the Canadian Coast Guard with employment tenures, language requirements, security requirements and work locations that will vary depending on the needs of the positions being staffed.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of post secondary education technically relevant to the related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience related to the functions of the position.
EXPERIENCE:
• Significant* experience in a maritime environment with the life cycle maintenance management of assets.
• Significant* experience in preparing/completing formal work unit documentation such as multiyear work plans, maintenance plans and hazardous occurrence investigations.
• Recent **experience in managing human and financial resources.
*Significant experience is defined* as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities, which could normally be acquired during a period of at least a year in the last two (2) years.
**Recent experience refers to experience gained in the last five years.
• Trades certification in one of the ITS trades such as carpentry, painting, electrical, welding or any other relevant trade certification.
• Experience in leading or managing a technical or operational project.
• Experience in electronic data management, including input, extraction and presentation, with programs like Excel .
• Functional experience working with an asset management database system.

• Willing and able to travel for up to 3 week periods of time to remote sites via; trucks, boats and aircraft.
• Willing and able to work weekends/overtime and travel on short notice.
