Work environment

This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one permanent full time position and one permanent part time position.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, on a casual basis, at full or part time hours) within RCMP's Lower Mainland District (LMD)

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Recent and significant experience* in providing administrative support services in a policing environment.
Experience in using word processing software such as Microsoft Word.
Experience in using PRIME (Police Records Information Management Environment) in a Records, Court Liaison, or Front Counter capacity.
Experience responding to front counter and/or telephone enquiries from the general public in a policing environment (e.g. criminal records checks, complaints, request for information, etc).

*“Recent and significant experience” means depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties over a period of approximately 12 months within approximately the last 24 months.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the processing of Traffic tickets and using TSMIT, CPIC, JUSTIN in a maintenance capacity

Experience in liaising with Crown Counsel & Provincial Court Clerks in order to maintain police file accuracy to reflect court decisions.

Experience in interpreting and understanding CPIC both in a maintenance and query function in order to ensure proper conditions are enforceable to members on patrol and to interpret CPIC entries to complete thorough and accurate Police Information Checks for the general public.

Experience in the transcription of statements

Experience using electronic fingerprinting systems (LiveScan) or manual ink & roll fingerprinting processes
