About the Agency:
This year marks 10 years of FedDev Ontario delivering funding and business services to support innovation and growth in southern Ontario. We are part of the Innovation, Science and Economic Development portfolio and one of six regional development agencies, each of which helps to address key economic challenges by providing regionally-tailored programs, services, knowledge and expertise.
For a decade, we have been making a difference, investing almost $2 billion in the southern Ontario economy, with more than 31,000 jobs created and maintained over the past five years.
As a Senior Communications Advisor you will be responsible for providing advice on communications issues and trends to internal and external clients. Help us tell the FedDev Ontario story by developing high-quality communications products that reflect not only what we have accomplished in our first ten years but what we are looking to do now and into the future. Responsibilities may range from coordinating and executing external events to managing the Agency’s web and social media presence.
What can FedDev Ontario offer you?
If you are interested in working in an environment focused on supporting innovation and growth in southern Ontario, then consider joining FedDev Ontario. Headquartered in Waterloo, the Communications Branch has offices at both ends of the Toronto–Waterloo Tech Corridor—a corridor that was recently recognized as one of the top 20 technology clusters in the world! We are in the right position to communicate the impact our support has on southern Ontario businesses, organizations and communities.
Our hardworking, dedicated team is involved in all aspects of the communications process—regularly taking ideas from conceptualization to creation. We are on-the-ground at events, behind the camera filming video content and at the computer working on website design and social media content.
We are looking for people who have a communications background, think independently and bring creative approaches to communications related to economic development.
A pool will be established as a result of this process and may be used to fill similar positions with various tenures (Acting, Assignment, Deployment, Indeterminate, Secondment, Specified Period) and language requirements in various locations within the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.
