Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.
The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Proof of education will be requested and must be provided during the selection process. Candidates who are unable to provide proof that they meet this essential qualification as requested may be eliminated from the process.

Experience in the processing and interpretation of local and regional seismic data.
Experience participating in scientific projects.
Experience in analysing scientific data and preparing scientific reports.
English or French
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of earthquakes and tectonics.
Knowledge of methods of collecting and processing geophysical data.
Knowledge of digital signal processing.
Knowledge of various data processing packages (e.g., Antelope, ObsPy, SAC, ArcGIS, GMT, SeisComP3) used for geophysical studies.
Ability to analyze and synthesize information and prepare reports on results;
Ability carry out assigned projects and work independently with minimum supervision;
Ability to participate in field operations in urban, rural and wilderness environments;
Ability to make presentations in public and clearly relay scientific information to a lay audience;
Ability to mentor and supervise students and casual employees;

Education:
Master of Science (MSc) from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in Geophysics, earth sciences or another relevant field.
Experience in the analysis and the synthesizing of seismic data.
Experience with Python, Matlab or similar scripting packages.
Experience working with and manipulating large geospatial datasets in a Geographic Information System (GIS), or similar framework.
