In Canada, the Translation Bureau helps the federal government to preserve linguistic duality and communicate with Canadians in both official languages, as well as in Indigenous and foreign languages. Bringing together translators, interpreters and terminologists, the Translation Bureau is Canada’s largest employer of language professionals.
The intent of the process is to staff various position with various tenure for various specified period (i.e. : casual, terms etc.) within the Translation Bureau in Various Location (Montreal, Quebec & in the NCR) A pool of candidates will be established to staff various positions using various language requirements and various tenure within Public Services and Procurement Canada.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCES:
- At least six months’ office work experience over the last three years requiring the creation and formatting of documents containing complex* elements by following detailed formatting instructions
OR
- Graduation within the last five years from a program of study through which the above-mentioned experience was acquired. The candidate must prove the relevance of the program of study by providing the name of the program and school and describing the courses related to the required experience.
*”Complex elements” refers to generating graphs, creating dynamic tables of contents, using style sheets, editing images, etc.

ABILITIES AND COMPETENCY:
- Ability to transcribe, using word processing software, audio or video recordings without making any typographical, grammatical or spelling errors
- Ability to format documents using the advanced features of document producing software such as Excel, Word, Visio or PowerPoint, or of PDF authoring/conversion software
- Ability to communicate effectively orally
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with shifting and conflicting priorities

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be willing and able to change schedule and work overtime on short notice on evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
- Due to the operational requirements of the parliamentary system, candidates must be willing and able to change schedule; work overtime on short notice on evenings, weekends and statutory holidays; and be routinely on call outside of normal working hours.
