The position(s) is located at 1426 St. Joseph Boulevard, Orleans, Ontario. However, interested candidates should be aware that frequent commute within the National Capital Region as well as travel to other areas of the country and abroad is an expected and a necessary part of the job.
The intent, for this anticipatory process, is to establish a pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.
Should a PS be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

EDUCATION:
E1: Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Notes:
1. Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2. It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
3. At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
EXPERIENCE:
EX1: *Extensive experience in the electronics technology field, with emphasis on counter technical intrusion (Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM)).
EX2: *Extensive experience in the installation, programming and maintenance of computerized electronic monitoring equipment for signals analysis.
EX3: *Extensive experience in the deployment and monitoring of counter technical intrusion detection systems equipment to verify wired, wireless and building system vulnerabilities.
EX4: *Extensive experience in technical electronic system performance analysis, problem analysis and documentation in the mitigation of security vulnerabilities of secure discussion areas.
*Extensive refers to a minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years.
ASSETS - EDUCATION:
A-E1: Three-year Diploma as a Technologist in Computer or Electronic Engineering technology.
A-E2: Successful completion of US National Security Agency’s Interagency Training Center (ITC) TSCM Fundamentals Course.
A-E3: Training/Work experience within the Canadian Federal Departments mandated to perform TSCM duties (RCMP CTI, DND TSIT, GAC, or CSIS)
ASSETS - EXPERIENCE:
A-EX1: ***Recent experience in financial and human resources planning.
A-EX2: ***Recent experience in the development, configuration, maintenance and deployment of active wireless technologies.
A-EX3: **Significant experience supervising personnel in a technical environment.
