Intent of the process

Anticipatory process. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and could be used to fill similar positions within Environment and Climate Change Canada in the Quebec Region. The profile and language requirements, security level and the duration of the duties may vary depending on the position to be staffed.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in biological science or environmental science specializing in animal or plant ecology or in a field related to faunal or floral habitats.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
E1.A minimum of nine (9) months of cumulative experience in coordinating or carrying out at least one scientific study relating to fauna or flora or their habitats, including the planning step of the project.
E2.Work experience in a team that is in charge of elaborating recovery planning documents for fauna or flora species at risk, or in a recognized recovery planning team.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

AED1.Master’s degree or PhD from a recognized post-secondary institution in biological science or environmental science with a specialization in animal or plant ecology or in a field related to faunal or floral habitats.

Degree equivalency

AE1.Experience in identifying, developing and prioritizing recovery approaches for fauna or flora species at risk or their habitats with a view to resolving conservation issues.

AK1.Knowledge of the recovery planning process for endangered, threatened or extirpated species in Canada and the management planning process for species of special concern under the Species at Risk Act.
