The TSB was created as an independent agency due to the importance of impartiality in the conduct of investigations. Your application MUST include your resume, your latest Law School transcript, and sample of writing (ex: A project you have undertaken as part of your university studies in law).

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is part of the core public service administration named in Schedule IV of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and is also subject to the PSEA. This being said the TSB is an independent arm's length agency that reports to Parliament through the President of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada. The organization aspires to be a modern world-class organization that evolves and adapts as it strives to influence changes that advance transportation safety. The TSB has a strong and credible reputation in Canada and around the world.
The TSB is a small organization with approximately 220 employees and 5 Board Members, including the Chair. The organization operates in a decentralized manner through 10 locations across Canada. Employees work in a collegial and collaborative environment.

EDUCATION:
For Articling Students (not yet eligible for membership in the Bar of one of the provinces or territories of Canada or in the Order of Notaries in the Province of Quebec), the minimum standard is:
A bachelor of law degree.
*Please note that the student must be a Common law student or a national program.
** Please note that the articling principal is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and can only supervise based on the criteria practice of the Ontario Bar.
At the time of appointment, the Articling Student candidate must have a Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B)
The offer of employment will be conditional upon providing proof of receipt of a LL.B before the appointment date
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in conducting legal research
Experience in drafting various legal documents
Bilingual - Imperative (CCB/CCB)
