In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pilot with a Canadian Air Operator, Private Operator, Flight Training Unit or in the Canadian Military.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Post-secondary education in an aviation or related program to the position.

Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized university with a specialization in aeronautical, mechanical or electrical engineering or computer sciences.

OR

Total of 3,000 hours flight time, which includes 1,500 hours as pilot-in-command that includes multi-engine turbo-jet transport aeroplanes of a maximum certified take-off gross weight of a minimum of 50,000 pounds.

Possession or previous possession of one of the following ratings: DH8, EMB 170/190, CRJ, Boeing 737 or 757 or 767 or 777or 787, Airbus A220, A310, A320 or A330/340.

Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot Licence - Helicopter (ATPL-H).

Experience in conducting training lessons and information briefings.

Experience as a training pilot.

Experience as a Class 1 Aerobatics Instructor.

Experience working in a regulatory transportation environment.

Experience in applying legislation or policies for the purpose of decision making.

Experience exercising Ministerial Authority under the Aeronautics Act and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).

Experience in conducting assessments or evaluation of compliance.

Experience in enforcing statutes and regulations.

Experience as a Civil Aviation Safety Inspector.

Experience as an Approved Check Pilot.

Experience as a Pilot Examiner.

Experience in developing policies, procedures, or standards.

Experience as a helicopter flight crewmember on offshore operations.

Experience using Flight Management Systems.

Experience in conducting long-line operations.

Experience in working with Electronic Flight Instrument Systems.

Experience as a pilot-in-command (PIC) in global operations.

Experience as a PIC of multi-engine turbojet aircraft of a Maximum certified Takeoff Gross Weight of 45, 360 kg (100,000 lbs) or greater.

Experience on advanced technology aircraft.

Experience as pilot in command of multi-engine turbine powered aircraft of a Maximum Certified Takeoff Gross Weight of 22, 680 kg (50,000 lbs) or greater operating under Subpart 705 of the Canadian Aviation Regulations or Canadian military equivalent.

Experience in writing documents, such as investigative reports or court documents.

Experience in conducting investigations.

Experience working with legal issues.

Experience in the planning OR coordination OR management OR execution of the delivery of aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS, or equivalent programs).

Experience in working with risk management concepts and principles.

Experience in Quality Assurance.

Experience in managing or supervising a team.

Experience as Chief Flight Instructor.

Experience as Operations Manager in 702, 703, 704, or 705 operations.

Experience as Chief Pilot in 702, 703, 704, or 705 operations.

Experience writing documents such as: company operations manuals, technical bulletins, operational procedures and guidance material, training materials, Power Point presentations and other written correspondence.

Experience with Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems.

Experience at a Flight Training Unit.

Secret security clearance

Must hold a Canadian Airline Transport Pilot Licence that meets all applicable currency requirements to be able to exercise the privileges of the licence or a Canadian Commercial Pilot Licence - Helicopter Category with a Group IV Instrument Rating that meets all applicable currency requirements to be able to exercise the privileges of the licence, as applicable.

Must hold a valid Passport for international travel.

Must hold a valid Driver’s licence.

Willingness and ability to maintain professional aviation currency.
