The NRCan Booth Street complex is located within walking distance of Dows Lake, the Rideau Canal, and a network of paths through the greenspace of Commissioners Park, linking you to the city-wide urban cycling and pedestrian trail system. NRCan employees have access to amenities such as showers, change rooms and secure bicycle storage, allowing them to commute using Ottawa’s bike path system.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, or statistics.
Notes:
1.Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. If your specialization is not within a degree program, please list the courses you have completed against your economics, sociology, or statistics specialization in your application.
2.An indeterminate incumbent of a former ES position on June 30, 1967 who became an EC on June 22, 2009, who does not possess the minimum level of education as indicated for Part A above is deemed to meet this minimum educational standard based on his/her education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE
Significant* experience providing analysis, strategic advice and recommendations to senior management** on complex*** policy issues.
Experience preparing a variety of documents for senior management**, including memoranda, briefing notes, correspondence, analysis papers, summary reports and/or presentations.
Experience coordinating activities to meet established deadlines.
Experience building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience representing an organization to present and advance policy positions at interdepartmental, intergovernmental or international meetings.
*Significant is defined as having the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over a period of three (3) years.
**Senior management is defined as Director General-level and above.
***Complex is defined as the depth and breadth of activities involving multiple cross-cutting priorities, sub-issues or related issues, stakeholders and view-points.
