In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Candidates must possess by the start date (May 2019) a BSc in science with specialisations in environmental chemistry, aquatic toxicology, biology, ecology, zoology or geochemistry.

Currently enrolled in or be willing to enrol in the MSc in Applied Science at Saint Mary’s University. For applicants not currently enrolled, acceptance into the programs is subject to approval of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research and the Faculty of Science at Saint Mary’s University. BSc in science field related to environmental chemistry, environmental science, environmental geology, aquatic toxicology, biology, zoology, ecology or geochemistry.

A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher upon completion of Honours BSc (or equivalent)

Meets the requirements for enrolment in the MSc Applied Sciences program at Saint Mary’s University and is able to be accepted into this program.

Degree equivalency

Candidates must have prior field or laboratory experience in aquatic toxicology, contaminant geochemistry, or other pollution studies; and have completed an undergraduate degree in ecology, chemistry, geology or a related field. Ideally, candidates will be familiar with data management, data analysis and data archiving practices.

Candidates must have prior field or laboratory experience in aquatic toxicology, contaminant geochemistry, or other pollution studies; and have completed an undergraduate degree in ecology, chemistry, geology or a related field. Ideally, candidates will be familiar with data management, data analysis and data archiving practices.

Candidates must be willing to do field work outdoors under various conditions.
Candidates must be willing to do laboratory analyses working with different chemicals using best practices.
Candidates must be willing to work on computers to organize and analyse data generated from field and laboratory work.
Candidates must be willing to undertake and respect safety & workplace health & safety requirements.
Candidates must be willing to conduct a portion of their laboratory work based in Ottawa.
Canadiates must have up to date First aid or be willing to obtain First aid by May 2019
Candidates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and hold a Honours BSc or equivalent.

Conditions of employment
