The RCMP Information Management and Technology Branch in BC is starting a pilot project for a digital evidence management solution. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead this project. You will have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders and across multiple teams within the RCMP as we work to modernize how digital evidence is managed.
The team is located at the RCMP BC Headquarters in Surrey, BC. The office has great amenities and is only a short walk to the King George Skytrain station. This role works Monday through Friday with some flexibility to work variable start times or completing their hours of work over 8 or 9 days instead of 10 in a two week period. This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.
This is a temporary position until March 31, 2020, with possibility of extension.
Phase 1 of this process will be used to staff a temporary position as outlined above. Only candidates who indicate that they are willing and able to accept a temporary position will be considered for Phase 1 if they are referred. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure they correctly indicate Employment Tenure they are seeking in the applicable section of the application. In future, management may undertake additional Phases should a permanent position become available.
A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies, similar or lower-level positions, for term, permanent and acting, at full or part time hours.

Essential Qualifications
Education:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Notes:
1. Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2. It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
Experience:
1. Recent* and significant** experience in the management and implementation of information technology projects;
2. Recent* and significant** experience in leading multi-disciplinary information technology project teams;
* Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
** Significant experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of duties over approximately 3 years or more

Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
