Diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Physical Sciences, Mechanical Sciences, or other discipline related to the duties of the position.
Experience working with explosives
Experience in the use of data acquisition systems
Experience in the use of pressure transducers, both dynamic and static
Experience in the planning and execution of technical projects
Experience programing control systems, e.g. Dasylab, Labview or similar
Experience in the preparation of test reports
Experience in fabrication, use of milling machines, lathes, welding (Stick, MIG, TIG)
Note: experience gained at college/university is not considered valid
Experience doing fieldwork
Experience operating heavy equipment, such as bobcats, forklifts, telehandlers, overhead cranes, elevated platforms, or tractors
Experience repairing small engines
English essential
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of electric circuits related to blast testing
Knowledge of the basics of air blast
Knowledge of the fundamental properties of explosives
Knowledge of the safe handling of explosives
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
Ability to communicate effectively orally
Ability to use high-speed video equipment
