The intent of this process is to staff 1 indeterminate full-time position for the locations indicated for this process.

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Note:
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for a specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Significant* work experience in open innovation projects, including living laboratories, and/or in participatory research or a similar approach.
Significant* experience in leading collaborative work or consultations with different levels of government or external stakeholders (e.g. academic institutions, First Nations, private industry, international stakeholders and/or non-governmental organizations).
Experience in providing strategic advice, guidance, analysis and recommendations on policies and/or programs and/or complex and/or operational issues to senior management.
Experience in participating in multidisciplinary project teams for the development and implementation of socio-economic studies in partnership projects.
*Significant experience means experience acquired over a period of at least 3 consecutive years.

Knowledge of open innovation principles, including living laboratories, and/or of participatory research.
Knowledge of AAFC’s mandate, priorities and science and innovation objectives.
Knowledge of socio-economic theories and principles for application in the research and analysis of opportunities and challenges in Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector.
Ability to create and lead multidisciplinary teams in order to address complex socio-economic issues.
Ability to set and manage priorities within tight time frames with the goal of meeting the objectives of management.

Graduation with a Master’s Degree or PhD from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in social sciences including but not limited to open innovation, participatory research, geography, rural sociology or community development.
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in agricultural or environmental sciences.
Work experience in researching and analyzing economic and/or social issues related to the agri-environmental sector and of the sector’s key stakeholders.
Experience in providing training on open innovation, including living laboratories, and/or in participatory research or a similar approach.
