The immediate intent of this poster is to fill 2 EC-04 positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis. Applicants should be aware that this selection process may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various security requirements, conditions of employment as well as various tenures (temporary or permanent) within Health Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in statistics AND a specialization in one or more of the following: mathematics, epidemiology, biostatistics or geography

Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience in data processing, data manipulation and data compilation using SAS or R.
Experience applying statistical methods to analyse and visualize data in SAS or R.

Abilities and skills:
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Asset Education:
Degree or specialization in geography.
Degree or specialization in epidemiology or public health.
Post-graduate degree in biostatistics or statistics.

Degree equivalency

Asset Experience:
Experience in research related to human exposure to air pollution.
Experience generating questionnaires or surveys for health-based exposure research.
Experience in creating and managing data in ArcGIS using python coding.
Experience with machine learning methods.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of statistics, including descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and linear regression.
Knowledge of statistical programming in Statistical Analysis System (SAS) or R.

Abilities and skills:
Ability to compile, manipulate, clean, analyse and visualize data using SAS or R.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.
