Main duties of the position
Carries out construction, renovation, maintenance and minor repair work; analyzes and evaluates various problems in infrastructure-related fields; performs certain maintenance tasks on mechanical and restoration equipment and hardware; carries out indoor and outdoor maintenance work (carpentry, painting, tiling, locks, hardware, replacing lamps, adjusting windows, masonry, plastering, etc.).
Conducts preventive maintenance inspections based on maintenance records, and performs minor repairs in areas related to these duties.
Supervises maintenance work performed under contract (cleaning, waste disposal, window cleaning, pest control, landscaping, snow removal, etc.) and coordinates the contractor’s maintenance and construction activities with building occupants to ensure that operations are not disrupted.
Operates and maintains various hand, electrical and mechanical tools and drives a motorized vehicle.

EDUCATION
High school diploma or a combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Significant,* multi-faceted experience in at least two (2) trades related to general maintenance, renovation and repair in large buildings and in line with the duties of the position.
*Note: Significant experience is defined as at least three years of experience.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience in general maintenance, renovation and repair of historic or heritage buildings
•Experience in construction, renovation, maintenance and minor repair work and in analysis and evaluation of various problems in infrastructure-related fields; certain maintenance tasks on mechanical and restoration equipment and hardware; interior and exterior maintenance work (e.g. carpentry, painting, tiles, locks, hardware, lamp replacement, window adjustment, masonry, plastering, etc.)
•Experience in preventive maintenance inspections using maintenance records; minor repairs in areas related to the duties of the position

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the operation of tools and workshop equipment routinely used in building maintenance.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles.
Knowledge of current methods and techniques for maintenance and minor repairs in large buildings.
Knowledge of environmental principles applicable to maintenance of large office buildings.

• Required to work in confined spaces, in unconfortable positions and difficult to access.
