Duties

The mandate of Common Supervisory Services (CSS) Training is to implement an overall plan for learning programs to address OSFI’s Financial Supervision training needs. The CSS Instructional Designer is an instructional design professional who builds and maintains learning models, supports the delivery of training and manages contracts for technical training provided to financial supervisors across OSFI on topics related to the financial industry.

Intent of the process

The immediate intent is to staff 1 Bilingual Imperative (CBC/CBC) position and 1 English Essential position through this staffing selection process.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative), security profiles and various tenures, which may vary according to the position being staffed.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
● A university degree with specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology OR an acceptable combination of education, experience, and/or training.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
● Recent and significant experience in conducting research and analysis for the design and development of learning material used in a corporate training environment.
● Recent and significant experience facilitating training in a corporate training setting.
● Recent and significant experience in designing, implementing and evaluating learning programs aligned with organizational priorities.
● Experience in the use of Microsoft software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).

● Recent and significant experience in conducting research and analysis for the design and development of learning material used to train a group in the financial services industry*.
● Recent and significant experience facilitating training in the financial services industry*.
● Recent and significant experience in designing, implementing and evaluating learning programs aligned with organizational priorities in the financial services industry*.

*Financial services industry includes experience working in a financial institution, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, and accounting firms (dealing with audits), as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions, or other relevant areas.
