Work environment

This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.

Intent of the process

Anticipatory. A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, on a casual basis, at full or part time hours) within the area of selection. Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

Education:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
1. Recent* and significant** experience in using word processing software including Microsoft Word.
2. Recent* and significant** experience using spreadsheet software including Microsoft Excel.
3. Experience entering and managing information in an electronic database.
4. Significant** experience providing administrative support services in an office environment

*Recent experience refers to the performance of duties within the last two years.
**Significant experience means depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties over a period of approximately 6 months.
