Liaison Officer Profile
The tasks related to this role are to analyze violation files and request corrections or additional information if required, forward the files to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada and then follow up and provide the legal documents required under the Evidence Act. The role also entails drafting, disseminating and archiving orders to amend regulations based on the criteria set out in the Fishery (General) Regulations and making recommendations for process improvements.
The intent of this process is to staff 1 permanent Senior Regional Officer - Liaison Officer position as soon as possible. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to fill other similar positions in Conservation and Protection Directorate - Québec City.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of an acceptable two year postsecondary program or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Recent and significant experience* in conducting investigations related to fishing or other law enforcement fields.
OR
Recent and significant experience* in participating as an expert in investigations related to fishing or other law enforcement fields.
* « Recent and significant experience » is defined as experience acquired over a period of at least three years in the last five years.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

ASSETS :

Experience in preparing and tracking judicial records.
Experience in conducting major investigations and testifying in court.
Experience in supervising investigations.
Experience in working as a court liaison officer for a law enforcement agency or police force.
Completed The Fishery Officer Career Progression Program.
Membership in one of the designated Employment Equity Groups.
Secret security clearance
Willing and able to work overtime with short notice.
Willing and able to work evenings and weekends.
Must have a valid driver’s licence.
