Profile 1 : Operations
Under the responsibility of the Chief, the Senior Regional Officer (Operations profile)participates in the management of various aspects of the Conservation and Protection (C&P) Branch programs.The duties may include the supervision of administrative or operational employees, and financial management. The officer may be called upon to represent the Québec Region during national meetings, or during meetings with various external stakeholders. The officer may also act as the contact person for all C&P employees for program aspects under his or her jurisdiction. For example the officer could share his interpretation of policies and procedures for C&P programs such as the At-Sea Observer Program or the Dockside Observers Program.
Profile 2 : Recruitment and Training
Under the authority of the Recruitment, Training and Standards Chief, the Senior Compliance Program Officer (Recruitment and Training profile) coordinates all training activities for the region and is involved with the Central Administration in all the recruiting steps for Fishery Officers. He actively participates in recruit training and is responsible for the on-going training for all Fishery Officers in the organisation notably annual requalification, updates and specialized trainings. Furthermore, he must ensure proper execution and follow-up of the Fishery Officers Career Progression Program (FOCPP) in collaboration with the selected coaches. Lastly, he counsels the organisation in matters pertaining to training procedures and politics for Conservation and Protection.

The intent of this process is to staff 1 permanent Senior Regional Officer (Operations profile) position as soon as possible and 1 permanent Senior Regional Officer (Recruitment and Training profile) position next fall. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to fill other similar positions in Conservation and Protection Directorate - Québec City.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Completion of a recognized law enforcement officer training program (for example, but without being limited to, the Fishery Officer Career Progression Program).
Valid use of force and firearm training certification from own organization.
EXPERIENCE
Significant experience* in field enforcement activities, including powers similar to those exercised by fisheries officers (arrest, search and seizure with or without warrants, etc.).
*« Significant experience » is defined as experience normally acquired by performing the duties mentioned continuously for approximately three years.

Certification as a pistol, long firearm, police defence technique and/or other relevant instructor training.
