Education:
ED1: Graduation from post-secondary institution with a minimum of a Master of Science degree in a biological science such as biology, biochemistry, immunology or toxicology with acceptable specialization* in computational biology related to health sciences, genetics or molecular biology, or in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
*The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken in a university but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experience:
E1. Experience working on research projects relating to genomic and transcriptional data analyses;
E2. Experience working with biological applications and online databases related to toxicogenomics and RNA sequencing data;
E3. Experience with scientific data collection, analysis and record keeping;
E4. Experience conducting statistical analysis of “genomic” and in vivo or in vitro toxicological data;
E5. Experience in designing, conducting and interpreting in vivo or in vitro toxicological or biochemical laboratory assays.
NOTE FOR ALL EXPERIENCES: “Experience” means experience gained during graduate studies or remunerated work within the last 5 years.
Asset Experience:
AE1: Experience performing biological pathway analysis, mode of action analysis or mechanism of action analysis using transcriptome datasets;
AE2: Experience working on research projects relating to proteomic data analysis and pathway analysis.

Information on language requirements
Knowledge:
K1. Knowledge of experimental design in toxicogenomic studies.
K2. Knowledge of Next generation sequencing as it applies to RNA.
K3. Knowledge of the theory and practices of toxicology
K4. Knowledge of dose-response analyses, statistical methods and experimental design as they relate to toxicology studies
K5. Knowledge of biological applications and databases used in mining genomic and transcriptional data
K6. Knowledge of genomics, including the validation and interpretation of genomics data
K7. Knowledge of laboratory safety requirements and procedures in a laboratory.
Abilities:
A1. Ability to plan, conduct and assess experimental studies in the area of toxicology and/or toxicogenomics
A2. Ability to perform scientific data analysis, data visualization and to interpret the results;
A3. Ability to set priorities for the immediate workload and select favourable approaches to accomplish the tasks.
A4. Ability to communicate effectively orally;
A5. Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
