1) FINANCIAL SERVICES ASSISTANT (CR-5):
This position reports to the Manager of Finance, and supports the financial management and accounting functions of the Agency.
Duties:
- assist with budgeting, forecasting, accounting and development and implementation of controls and policies in support of the Agency’s execution of its mandate.
2) EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT (AS-1):
The position reports to a Manager, and supports management by planning and coordinating the administrative workflow within the unit.
Duties:
-Prepares and produces a variety of documents, reports (both financial and non-financial)
-creates presentations and maintains electronic files.
-Plans unit meetings, coordinates training and conference attendance, arranges travel and coordinates claims.
3) ACCOUNT ASSISTANT (AS-1):
The position reports to a Manager, and supports the Economic Development Officers in the unit.
Duties:
-uses the corporate systems to support the receipt of incoming client correspondence and send outgoing client correspondence.
-supports the administration of program delivery including preparation of contracts as well as the review and preparation of claims for reimbursement.
This process will serve to create a pool of partially qualified candidates which may be used for similar positions with various language requirements and job tenures within the Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agency (ACOA) in Fredericton. Examples of positions and duties are provided below.

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience: (Required for all 3 positions)
• Experience in providing service to internal and/or external clients.
• Experience in performing various administrative duties such as: reception, filing, word processing, managing schedules, making travel arrangements, organizing meetings and events and preparing various documents (correspondence, memos and reports)
• Experience working with software applications such as Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint)
Education: (Asset qualification that could be applied for any of the 3 types of positions)
Completion of a post-secondary diploma in a field related to the position, such as business administration and/or concentration in accounting.

• Experience in the administration of grants and contributions.
• Experience in preparing reports or presentations for management.
• Experience in the verification of financial information or contractual conditions.

• HOW TO STRUCTURE

• PROOF OF EDUCATION

• ASSESSMENT

• TOP DOWN APPROACH
Selection decisions may be based on the level, breadth or degree of qualifications achieved in one or more qualifications; for example, preference may be given to the candidate that has scored highest on a specific qualification or combination of qualifications. A cut-off score screening approach may be undertaken. Applicants who meet the essential experience criteria may be ranked according to the depth and breadth of experience they possess. Only the top ranking applicants may be invited to the next phase of assessment. Asset (desirable) criteria and/or organizational needs may also be applied at the screening stage.
