We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to clearly outline that they meet each of the screening criteria (i.e. Education and Experience Qualifications, both Essential and Assets). Failure to do so could result in the application being rejected from the process.
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s ATIP Secretariat is located in the Centennial Towers Building at 200 Kent Street (corner of Laurier Ave), making it an easy commute from both sides of the river, as well as a close walk to great lunch options, Parliament Hill, the Rideau Centre and the Byward Market. There is also a commercial fitness centre located in the building, which is open to its members 24/7.
Employees are proud to work at Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), where our work to protect Canada’s coastlines and marine environment will have a direct impact on generations to come. As an ATIP analyst at DFO, you will be able to explore the diverse areas that our mandate touches, such as environmental and aquatic animal science, fisheries management, transport, and heritage, to name a few.
For the third year in a row, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard received special recognition as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People in 2019. We were acknowledged this year because of the many training, networking and mentoring opportunities open to our new employees, including through the Canadian Coast Guard Officer Training Program and the work of Your Professional Network (YPN).
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar positions for the location indicated for this process.
