Intent of the process

ANTICIPATORY PROCESS - A pool of fully qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada at the AS-05 group and level with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate, acting etc.), various linguistic requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (i.e. Reliability, Secret, Top Secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Significant* experience in physical security in the Federal Government.
- Experience with physical security systems planning, implementation, programming and maintenance.
- Experience in managing, identifying and assessing security or emergency management issues.
- Experience preparing and providing security or emergency management briefings, reports and presentations.
- Experience in project management including financial and human resources.

*Significant experience is the depth and breadth of the experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities for a period of a minimum of 3 years within the last 5 years.

- Knowledge of Treasury Board Secretariat policies and standards related to security in the federal government.
- Knowledge of Security and Emergency Management systems and programs.

- Ability to analyze and resolve complex situations related to the fields of security and emergency management and make recommendations as appropriate to senior management.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least two years of a post-secondary program or graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field related to security or emergency management OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES:
- Experience in implementing a security program and related services.
- Experience in implementing an emergency management program and related services.
- Experience in providing security subject matter expertise and consultation to various stakeholders.

Operational Requirements :
- Willing and able to travel and work overtime on an occasional basis.
