You will be required to show how you demonstrate the essential qualifications (i.e. Education, Experience and/or Occupational Certification) for the initial screening through your resume, and in answering online screening questions. It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in a cover letter or screening questions should be supported by your resume. Failure to provide the above information in the format required may result in your application being rejected from the process. Candidates may not be solicited for incomplete or possible missing information.
You must clearly indicate your education level. Candidates invited to the assessment stage will be required to provide ORIGINAL proof of their education credentials, i.e., their degree or official transcript. It is your responsibility to provide this information when requested.
Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Consult the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials for further information at http://www.cicic.ca
The public service will accept any Foreign Educational Credentials as long as they are deemed comparable to Canadian standards, through a recognized credential assessment service.
Failure to produce Canadian equivalency will result in you being eliminated from the process.

Courses could include applied mathematics, physics, thermodynamics, chemistry, electricity/electronic theory, process controls, fluid theory, transmissions, material science, gas turbine and diesel theory, etc. The level of instruction will range from the basic level (equivalent to first level civilian apprenticeship) through to the senior level (as offered in Institutes of Technology).
The Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) work together to fulfill the Government of Canada’s mission to defend Canadian interests and values, and to contribute to international peace and security. DND is the largest federal government department in Canada and is part of the Public Service of Canada. Internally, DND and the CAF are collectively termed the Defence Team and civilians make up close to 25 per cent of the organization. As public servants and members of the Defence Team, civilians work side-by-side with CAF personnel for the defence of Canada and Canada’s contribution to international security and stability efforts.
Civilians are a vital part of enabling the Department’s mandate and objectives, and occupy more than 100 types of occupation classifications supporting the CAF in serving Canada’s interests with distinction, both at home and abroad - more than 65 per cent of the DND civilian population working outside the National Capital Region in a variety of capacities.
The success of the Defence Team relationship stems from the concepts of fairness and mutual respect. Among the crucial roles that civilians play within the three environments of the CAF , roles such as accountants, administrative support officers, auditors, business specialists, defence scientists, economists, engineers, human resources professionals, information systems specialists, policy researchers, procurement officers, public relations professionals, real property administrators, and university professors form the largest groups of civilians working as part of the Defence Team.
The intent of this process is to staff two indeterminate positions. A pool of qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions within various units and locations with the Department of National Defence.
