Your tasks will include:

- Managing the activities of a specialized and dynamic team.
- Devising innovative recommendations and coordinate operational and technological improvements to the Legal Deposit Program by monitoring trends in the Canadian publishing industry.
- Promoting the Legal Deposit Program to internal and external clients and develop promotional materials.
- Partnering with clients, colleagues and professionals from other government departments, academia, industry and the private sector to share knowledge and collaborate.

Work environment

Library and Archives Canada offers a number of advantages:

available on site. LAC is not serviced by the Pay Centre.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate (permanent) supervisory position and a second one in the next couple of months. This process may lead to the creation of a pool of partially qualified candidates (Up to Second Language Evaluation) and may be used to staff similar positions with various durations and language requirements within Library and Archives Canada.

Education
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a master’s degree in library science or in library and information science.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Exp1: Recent* and Significant** experience in performing library services and responding to client requests.

*Recent: This experience can normally be demonstrated by working in the field within the last three (3) to five (5) years.
** Significant: Means experience was a core part of the candidate’s employment.

Exp2: Significant** experience in developing and managing operational projects that improve services or work processes

** Significant: Means experience was a core part of the candidate’s employment.

Exp3: Experience in providing practical recommendations to management
