Intent of the process

The preference and intent of this process is to staff one anticipated indeterminate position in Regina, Saskatchewan.

If no persons are interested in working in Regina, the board may consider staffing the position in Edmonton or Winnipeg, where the duties will be performed within a virtual structure from an ECCC office.

Applicants should be aware, that a pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established, and may be used to staff similar or identical positions of various tenures, various security level requirements and/or various linguistic requirements within ECCC.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position such as an applied science, environmental studies, biology or engineering.

Note:
1. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Significant* experience in building partnerships, collaborating and negotiating with a range of external organizations for example other levels of government, federal departments, non-governmental organizations, academia and industry
• Experience preparing briefings and providing advice on complex issues** to senior management.
• Experience leading multi-stakeholder working groups, committees or projects.
• Significant* experience managing human and financial resources.

*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with performing a broad range of duties for approximately two (2) years.
**Complex issues mean those that require cross-cutting, multi-facetted considerations (e.g. science, technology, social, economic and political context, stakeholder perspectives).
