The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) is the federal government agency responsible for protecting and educating consumers of financial services and products. FCAC has grown significantly in recent years, and will continue its growth in 2019-20. The Human Resources function plays a critical role in the recruitment and development of FCAC's key asset - its people.

Duties

As a first point of contact to our HR department, and in collaboration with our HR Manager and Advisors, you will:

- Respond to inquiries from internal and external clients;
- Draft job opportunity posters and notifications on Public Service Resourcing System (PSRS);
- Schedule and administer exams, schedule and coordinate interviews;
- Prepare, review, and process various staffing and classification related documents;
- Maintain electronic staffing and classification files;
- Updates employee and position data in MyGCHR;
- Conduct research and prepare various HR related reports.

Work environment

Located in downtown Ottawa, FCAC is a separate agency subject to the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). We offer the same pension and benefits plans as the core public administration. Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff two (2) positions, this selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security profiles and various tenures.

Volume management strategies may be used at any time during this selection process.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

E1 - Recent* experience in providing administrative support services in the discipline of operational staffing or classification in a client-oriented work environment.

E2 - Experience maintaining and updating a Human Resources Management System (i.e. HRMS, HRIS, My GCHR, PeopleSoft, etc.).

E3 - Experience using Microsoft Office software, such as Outlook, Word or Excel.

*Recent refers to the experience normally associated with the performance of the duties in the last two (2) years.

ASSET EXPERIENCE

AE1 - Experience using the Public Service Resourcing system (PSRS) to draft job advertisements and notifications.

AE2 - Experience maintaining and updating a Human Resources Management System, more specifically using PeopleSoft 8.9 or 9.1.
