Duties

As Technical Revisor, you will be responsible for correcting grammatical mistakes, misspellings, mistypings, inconsistencies in usage, and errors in citations in both official languages. You will also be responsible for adherence to the SCC style guide and comparison of the French and English versions of the reasons for judgments. We are thus looking for someone who pays attention to detail, is able to multitask and works well under pressure.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff the above mentioned position; it may also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions at the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada with varying linguistic profiles, security profiles, and tenures.

EDUCATION:

Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary school program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in a field related to the responsibilities of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE :

Experience in proofreading and editing documents in both official languages.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET EXPERIENCE:

Experience in proofreading and editing legal documents including judgments and summaries.
