Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) is the national leader in defence and security science and technology.
As an agency of Canada’s Department of National Defence (DND), DRDC provides DND, the Canadian Armed Forces and other government departments as well as the public safety and national security communities, the knowledge and technological advantage needed to defend and protect Canada’s interests at home and abroad.
Immediate need will be to fill 1 determinate position.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (term, indeterminate, deployment, assignment, secondment).

EDUCATION :
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics engineering or in another field of engineering relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE :
- A minimum of 12 months of experience with the C++ programming language
- Experience of 6 months or more in at least three (3) of the five (5) fields:
• Matlab/Simulink
• Using one or more verification and validation processes
• Creation of digital models
• Physical phenomena surrounding electro-optics
• Writing technical reports, as well as preparation and delivery of presentations
EXPERIENCE :
- Experience of 6 months or more in the following fields :
• Development of 3D applications using the 3D Unreal Engine
• Physical phenomena surrounding guidance, navigation and control
• Physical phenomena surrounding the mechanics of flight
• Atmospheric propagation
• Collecting data in laboratory
• Programming Digital Signal Processor (DSP) or microcontroller
• Electronic circuit design
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)
Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE :
- Knowledge of software development processes and associated documentation
- Knowledge in communication protocols allowing to create distributed simulations
- Knowledge of project management principles
SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to coordinate several projects at once
- Ability to analyze and solve technical problems and to formulate effective recommendations
