The intent of this process is to fill one vacant position. This process may be used to staff similar positions in various locations of various tenures.

Education:
Part A:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
OR
Part B:
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.
This position is under review; therefore, Part A or B of the EC Qualification Standard may be used.

Experience:
Part A:
• Experience conducting economic, socio economic and sociological research, studies, forecasts and surveys in domestic and/or international settings
OR
Part B:
• Experience conducting surveys, studies and projects in the social sciences.
Both Parts:
- Experience in human and financial resource management
- *Significant experience in leading negotiations or consultations on complex** issues related to Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
- *Significant experience in developing and providing evidence-based strategic advice and solutions to senior management (Directors, Director Generals and Assistant Deputy Ministers) on complex** issues related to Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
*Significant experience is defined as having performed a broad range of various and complex related activities, in terms of the scope and the impact of the experience which could normally be acquired over a period of approximately three years.
** Complex issues are normally characterized by the following: multidimensional, sensitive, confidential, affecting many partners or stakeholders, precedent-setting or having a major impact on program delivery for the public service.
- Successful completion of a Master’s degree specialized in resource management, biology, First Nations studies or any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
- Experience and training in conflict resolution
- Experience in fisheries management
