Duties:
• Functions as the first point of contact by phone and e-mail for Canada Business inquiries originating from Atlantic Canada.
• Provides information on federal and provincial programs, services and regulations available to the business community and potential entrepreneurs.
• Conducts light diagnostic/needs assessment to ensure appropriate utilization of the service.
• Addresses general inquiries and refers more in-depth or complex inquiries to the ACOA staff responsible for Canada Business in the appropriate Atlantic Province.
• Uses client relationship management software to capture client information to facilitate follow up, future client interactions, and reporting.
• Fulfills a research centre of expertise function by working in support of the ACOA staff responsible for Canada Business in each of the Atlantic Provinces. This involves knowledge of a broad range of data sources, data bases and market research information.
• Working with other Canada Business employees, maintains up-to-date summary descriptions of business-related programs offered by the provincial governments in Atlantic Canada.
• Liaises effectively with ACOA staff responsible for Canada Business in each of the Atlantic Provinces to provide effective client referrals for more in-depth or complex inquiries.
The intent of this process is to staff two term positions in Campbellton, NB.
A pool of candidates may also be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions for temporary and/or permanent appointments in Campbellton, NB.

EDUCATION:
Secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in answering questions on programs or services to the public in a dynamic and sometimes high-pressured environment.
• Experience in working in a team environment.
• Experience in preparing written documents, summarizing and presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience in conducting research through databases, internet sources or other data sources.
• Experience in dealing with individuals in a client service environment.
• Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public via telephone or in person.

ASSET EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of post-secondary education.
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in the use of interviewing techniques, such as probing for more in-depth information.
• Experience in responding to inquiries by telephone, in-person or electronically.
