Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory staffing process designed to create a pool of qualified candidates. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with similar requirements.

EDUCATION
Graduation with degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Current registration as a Registered Nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE
*Recent experience working in a community health and/ or public health program.
**Significant experience working in two or more components of a Communicable Disease Control program such as: health emergency management, vaccine preventable diseases, communicable disease, tuberculosis and/or other respiratory diseases, harm reduction, blood borne pathogens, sexually transmitted infections or infection control.

*Recent is defined as taking place in the last five years.
**Significant is defined as a two (2) year period of full-time work or equivalent.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

ASSET EDUCATION
Graduation with an advanced degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a health related field.

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE
Experience providing public health nursing in a First Nation community or with a First Nations organization.
Experience in reviewing, analyzing and synthesizing written reports.
Experience providing advice or recommendations to management on health issues.
