EDUCATION
ED1: A secondary school diploma and completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
Note: Normally, an acceptable training program in Avionics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject.
EXPERIENCE
EX1: Significant and recent on aircraft experience in maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and/or installation of avionics systems.
NOTE: Significant and recent experience is defined as experience obtained by having performed a broad range of activities which would normally be acquired over a period of approximately five years or more. Recent experience is defined as a part of this period was included the past 3 years or less.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
AOC1: Possess an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License.
EXPERIENCE
AEX1: Experience with processes and documentation requirements for aircraft certification used by Transport Canada, FAA, or EASA.
AEX2: Experience or ability to using computerized drafting programs such as AutoCAD.

KNOWLEDGE
K1: Knowledge of avionics systems, hardware, components and their integration into aircraft.
ABILITIES
A1: Ability to communicate effectively orally.
A2: Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
A3: Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage priorities and meet tight deadlines.
A4: Ability to select typical avionics systems and components for integration into an aircraft to meet a stated requirement. For example, specify the scope of work, design the system block diagrams, interfaces, wiring schematics, and prepare installation, maintenance, and operating instructions required for Transport Canada approval.
