The intent of this selection process is to staff two 12-month term (determinate) positions with a possibility of extension. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within Elections Canada with various tenures (indeterminate or varying specified periods) and various linguistic profiles (CCB/CCB, CCC/CCC).

Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in any of the following: French studies, English studies, languages, literature, linguistics, translation, or other related discipline.
Significant* experience in developing, writing and editing various procedural and technical manuals, user guides, reference materials, or other communication products, in both official languages.
* Significant experience is defined as experience normally acquired by a person performing these duties on a regular and ongoing basis, in an office or business setting, for at least 12 months
Experience in using electronic working tools for language professionals, such as: terminology databases, online dictionaries, in-house style guides, lexicons, glossaries, and other language and style reference materials
Experience in using Microsoft Word to edit documents electronically
Bilingual - Imperative (CCC/CCC)
Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of principles and practices in the fields of writing and editing
ABILITIES
Ability to set priorities and work within tight deadlines and shifting priorities
Ability to perform in-depth concordance (comparative) editing of the French and English versions of a text

EDUCATION:
Training seminars or workshops intended for writing, editing or translation professionals
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in translating various types of documents from English to French
