EDUCATION
• A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, experience and/or training.
EXPERIENCES
• Experience in preparing reports.
• Experience in providing technical advice in a regulatory environment.
• *Recent and significant experience in interpretation and application of the Canadian Rail Operating Rules as a locomotive engineer, conductor or railway traffic controller.
*Recent and significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of various, complex related activities normally acquired over a period of five (5) years; and the performance of those duties within the last ten (10) years.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, including nights, weekends and stand-by (on call).
• Willingness and ability to work in adverse environments and weather conditions.
• Willingness and ability to work alone in isolated areas.
• Reliability status security clearance.
• Possession of a valid Provincial Driver’s License.
• Willingness and ability to travel on short notice for extended periods using all modes of transportation.
• Physical environment: This position requires, on occasion, physical effort to climb structures and equipment of facilities on sites where the access is difficult and the terrain rugged.
