This process will initially be used to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Morinville, Alberta and a qualified pool will be created and used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, acting, assignment, secondment) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Experience in using spreadsheet software, an electronic mail system and a word processing system.
Experience in the provision of administrative*, financial** and operational support services***
* Determine, coordinate and/or provide support services for internal service areas of finance, purchasing, records, accommodation repair & maintenance. Recommend options/strategies related to budgets, information, accommodation, and human resource management. ie) create and manage shift schedule, approve travel and leave requests, records management related to indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving & destroying data.
** Monitor payment of invoices, maintenance of financial records, certification of payments, expenses and claims, verify contingency fund reconciliation and master claim submissions.
*** Develop and implement changes in operational work methods and procedures to streamline work flow; plan, manage and evaluate the work of reporting admin staff related to operational processes; determine and coordinate external services and assistance provided to the public – ie) fingerprinting services, criminal record checks; research, extract and compile statistical reports from operational databases; lead the development, maintenance and disposal of operational files/records.
Experience in providing advice, guidance and/or support to a team or a manager.
Experience in providing service to internal clients by telephone, in person or in writing.
Experience in leading, coaching, mentoring, and/or experience in employee supervision such as assigning and monitoring work, maintaining a shift schedule, approving leave, performance management, completing employee assessments.
Experience in quality assurance of information on the following law enforcement databases: Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS).
Experience using TEAM (SAP) and Manager/Support Services in TEAM Portal.
Experience in managing or participating in Public Service Staffing processes.
Experience researching, interpreting, and applying legislation and/or policies in the course of work responsibilities.

Reliability Status security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc . As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
