Shared Services Canada (SSC) is mandated to secure Government of Canada Information Technology infrastructure, assets and data. To accomplish this mission, SSC deploys and manages sophisticated advanced Cyber and IT security technologies, solutions and services. SSC is currently recruiting dynamic and cutting-edge professionals to protect Canada's cyberspace including data protection, infrastructure and application security, and identity management. EDUCATION - BOTH STREAMS
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE - STREAM 1 ONLY – Technical Advisor
E1. *Significant experience working as an IT analyst or similar position in one or more of the following areas:
a. IT Security
b. Network architecture
c. Programming/Scripting
d. Network monitoring
e. Identity or Credentials
f. Access Management
g. Directory services
h. Classified Systems
i. IT Security assessment, audit & evaluation.
j. ITSM (IT Service Management)
E2. *Significant experience in conducting technical research and analysis in any area of IT (as identified in experience 1), and providing written technical advice, including recommendations, to various audiences.
E3. Experience working in an IT environment involving a variety of platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies and/or messaging technologies.
E4. Experience developing, delivering and/or supporting IT solutions using defined methodologies and best practices.

ASSET EXPERIENCE - BOTH STREAMS
1. Experience in the design, implementation, and testing of an enterprise security solution.
2. Experience supporting security services such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, Security Event Management, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, Data Loss prevention, Network Security, Vulnerability Assessment and Directory Services, or other related Cyber/IT security services.
3. Experience with vulnerability management services including performing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing or remediation services.
4. Experience in scripting and/or tasks automation.
5. Experience working with Type-1 cryptography devices and applying the IT Security Directives for the Control of COMSEC Material
6. Experience developing and/or assessing information systems security or technical security architecture models, elements, or practices.
