The intent of this process is to staff one EG-06 position indeterminately. A pool of qualified candidates will be created for future vacancies.

Your résumé.
Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternative
Completion of technical training through an apprenticeship (or equivalent college diploma or military qualification)
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in the field of Machining or Marine Engineering as a technician/technologist or equivalent level.
Experience in managing the operations of a multi-disciplined work group, to include engineers, technicians or draftsmen, in the conduct of technical activities.
Experience producing technical drawings applicable to naval ships or submarines
Experience performing and reviewing engineering calculations applicable to naval ships or submarines
Experience in the use of Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) for the day-to-day management of platform materiel
Education:
Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering or Machining
Other relevant specialized education and training (i.e. completion of a Ship Construction or Machinist trade)
Experience:
Experience with modeling software such as: AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.
Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products
English essential

Knowledge of ship and submarine hull/mechanical systems
Abilities:
Ability to review technical drawings applicable to naval ships or submarines
Ability to communicate effectively orally
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
Ability to maintain, modify, and troubleshoot naval systems and associated equipment

Effective interpersonal skills
Knowledge:
Knowledge of ship and submarine structural and mechanical systems (HVAC, FireFighting, etc) survey and repair techniques
Operational Requirements:
Willing and able to work flexible hours, overtime, evenings, and on weekends, occasionally at short notice in order to conduct onboard inspections and trials
Willing and able to work at height, in confined spaces, or in high noise areas
Secret security clearance
Ability to work in an open office environment and in an industrial environment
Ability to work on and transfer to and from ships and submarines via small boat or helicopter
Ability to travel nationally or internationally
Ability to work in confined spaces on board ship or submarines
