PLEASE TAKE THE TIME to read the following information carefully as it may have an impact on the outcome of your application.
How to apply via the Public Service Resourcing System (PSRS):
Candidates MUST complete the SCREENING QUESTIONS portion of your application provided under this selection process. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in these SCREENING QUESTIONS how they meet the EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE listed in the essential qualifications. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of your application.
Write one or more paragraphs demonstrating how you meet each of these qualifications. Please be sure to provide COMPREHENSIVE examples. Please demonstrate how you demonstrate the education criterion by including the name of the degree and the postsecondary institution you graduated from (as applicable). A job title alone, does not demonstrate that you have the requisite level of experience. Your answer should clearly identify your role and explain relevant responsibilities and/or actions that you took. Additionally, please be sure to provide sufficient information regarding dates & duration, scope of work, project or job complexities (as appropriate).
Resumes will not be used as a secondary source to validate the education and experience described in the questionnaire. Failure to provide sufficient details concerning the EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE essential qualifications in the SCREENING QUESTIONS portion of your application will result in your elimination from the process. If applicable, in your application, please demonstrate with examples how you meet the asset qualifications. The asset qualifications are desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
The successful candidate will work in the mobile examination center of a unique national study and continuously travel to various collection sites across Canada.
Shift-work is a requirement, including weekends, evening and overtime as needed. The incumbent will be trained to perform physical measures testing following established protocols and guidelines (including fitness testing and anthropometric measures).
The workspace is prepared daily for testing, including setting up and calibrating equipment and systems and performing routine maintenance of equipment.
Before physical measures are completed, the candidate will ask routine screening questions and provide basic interpretation of measures to the respondent.
The candidate will guide the respondent to perform the physical measures and enter the test results into a data collection system.
The candidate will follow health and safety guidelines, quality control and data security measures, policies and procedures while on the work site.
Finally, the candidate will perform administrative activities such as maintaining supply inventories, assisting in clinic set-up and take down, assisting in scheduling respondent appointments and other duties as required.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates will be established to staff various tenures (term, indeterminate, acting, assignment, or secondment basis) and/or security clearances (reliability or secret) within Statistics Canada.
