This process is anticipatory.
This process may be used to staff positions within the following programs: Compliance Promotion, Marine Programs, Environmental Assessments, Contaminated Sites and Environmental Emergencies.
A pool of qualified or partially assessed candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements, in various locations, with various tenures (specified period, indeterminate, assignment, deployment, secondments, and acting) within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, biology, engineering or other science relevant to the position
Experience
EXP 1 - Experience* in implementing technical or scientific projects or program related to environmental protection or conservation
EXP 2 - Experience* in writing or evaluating scientific documents in the fields of environmental protection or conservation (for example, environmental impact studies, environmental characterization studies, site remediation plans, or environmental effect monitoring studies)
NOTE: * The experience will be evaluated in relation to the relevance, the complexity and the level of responsibility of the tasks that were carried out (depth and wealth) for a period of at least one year.
Asset Education
AEDU 1 - A master’s degree or a post graduate degree from a recognized institution with acceptable specialization in a discipline relevant to the duties of the position
Asset Experience
AEXP 1 - Experience** in providing scientific and technical advice related to environmental protection or conservation
AEXP 2 - Experience** in drafting scientific documents for educational or information purposes
AEXP 3 - Experience** with chemical processes or in the industrial or municipal environmental field (ex: design, operation, maintenance, inspection or certification)
AEXP 4 - Experience** conducting biological, chemical or physical studies (ex: sampling or carrying out analyses) in aquatic environment (marine or fresh water)
AEXP 5 - Experience** in evaluating environmental impacts of dredging or of marine engineering projects
AEXP 6 - Experience** in applying statistical or computer based methods to process and interpret scientific data
AEXP 7 - Experience** in environmental assessment, including carrying out, writing or evaluating environmental impact studies
AEXP 8 - Experience** in evaluating, managing or remediating contaminated sites, either terrestrial or aquatic
AEXP 9 - Experience** in fieldwork in the field of environmental sciences
AEXP 10 - Experience** in the field of geomatics
AEXP 11 - Experience** in the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan (FCSAP) program, or related policies, guidance material or tools

A pass mark will be established for each qualification. However, achieving the pass mark is not guarantee of an appointment or that candidates will be put through the next stages of the assessment process. A cutoff score and a top-down approach may be used at any step if there is a sufficient number of candidates to meet immediate and anticipated staffing needs.
