The intent of this process is to staff one PG-02 position indeterminately. A pool of qualified candidates will be created for future PG-02 and PG-03 vacancies.

Education (Both Streams):
Successful completion of a Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience
Experience (Both Streams):
Acceptable* experience contracting for goods or services, which must include experience in one (for PG-02 stream) or two (for PG-03 stream) of the following:
• preparing and developing solicitation and contract documents
• managing the bid evaluation process
• awarding and managing the contact
Experience (PG-03 Only)
Acceptable* experience in managing a complex** contract.
For PG-02:
*Acceptable is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of at least 1 year within the last 5 years.
For PG-03:
*Acceptable is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of at least 2 years within the last 5 years.
**Complex is defined as having experience in at least three (3) of the following elements:
1. Involving multi-million dollar projects
2. Involving consultations with multiple stakeholders
3. Involving multi-year or multi-phased projects
4. Involving multiple trade agreements
5. Involving high profile or high risk projects (e.g. scope, security, emergency, departmental priorities, etc.)
6. Involving stakeholder negotiations
7. Involving the resolution of bid evaluation issues
8. Involving the resolution of contracts management issues
Education (Both Streams):
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the position
Experience (Both Streams):
Experience in the following areas: supervision, ethics or team building
Experience delivering training
Experience using an automated financial and material management system/integrated procurement system (i.e. ORACLE, SAP, etc.)
Experience posting a solicitation on a Canadian government electronic tendering system
Experience (PG-03 Only):
Experience of tradework processes applicable to the types of work subcontracted in support of ship repair (examples: Paint, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.)
Acceptable* experience with Procurement and Contracting in a Marine Industrial Environment.
*Acceptable is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of at least 2 years within the last 5 years.
Knowledge (Both Streams):
Extensive knowledge of Canadian federal procurement policies, procedures and contract terminology.
Knowledge of Canadian Federal Government Material Management.
