The intent of this process is to staff 1 (one) GL-MDO-08 full-time position on an indeterminate basis in Churchill, Manitoba.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used for similar indeterminate, specified period employment, acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployment.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in supervision of staff.
Experience in the operation of specialized equipment utilized in Airport Operations.
Experience operating snow removal heavy equipment during winter operations (such as plow truck, hydraulic snow blower).
Experience planning and directing maintenance and repair of commercial facilities, paved surfaces and landscaping in large public accessed areas.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook on computers and/or tablets.

Knowledge of TP312 Aerodrome Standards and Recommended Practices.
Knowledge of Safety Management Systems as they relate to airport operations.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years’ experience in supervision of staff, which includes Employee Performance Management.
Two (2) years’ experience in the operation of specialized equipment utilized in Airport Operations.
Two (2) years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of airport facilities, surfaces, and grounds.
Experience in emergency response services.
Experience supervising 3rd party service contracting.
Experience working with budgets and financial management.
Experience in bird and wildlife control methods, techniques and procedures used at Airports.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
To obtain and maintain a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) for firearms within six (6) months of appointment.
To acquire and maintain a valid Airside Vehicle Operations Permit (AVOP) within the first 1 month of employment.
To acquire and maintain a Radiotelephone Operator's Restricted Certificate (endorsed aeronautical) within the first 1 month of employment.
To obtain and maintain a Class 3 Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement within 6 months of appointment.
Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License
Reliability Status security clearance
Pre-employment and periodic Medical assessment is required.
Willingness and ability to travel for training and to offsite work locations.
Willingness and ability to work overtime, variable hours and weekends.
Willingness and ability to work standby. (If required, be able to report for duty normally within 30 minutes).
Must be able to wear Canadian Standard Association (CSA) approved safety footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Must be able to successfully complete all training required by regulation.
