Have you ever wanted to work for the RCMP but not carry a gun? This advertised opportunity is for an entry level position as a Public Service Employee with the RCMP. Vacancies may be available in a variety of units, including, but not limited to: Accounting Operations, Records Management, Finance, Procurement, Intellex, Historical Homicide or Training and Development.

The RCMP is recruiting for entry level CR-04 positions in Edmonton. As positions become available, qualified candidates may be contacted for appointment where a vacancy exists.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff entry level administrative support positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police within the various offices located in the Edmonton area.

Applicants are encouraged to apply ONLY if they are willing and able to work in or relocate to Edmonton, Alberta and within a 40 kilometer radius.

Job offers resulting from this process will be for either PERMANENT or TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Recent* experience working with software applications such as Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint)
*Recent experience signifies within the last two years.

Experience preparing documents such as letters, memoranda, briefing notes or reports.

Experience using a financial management system such as SIGMA/SAPP
Experience maintaining a law enforcement database.
Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving or destroying data.
Experience transcribing statements from audio cassettes or digital media.
Experience in providing service to internal and/or external clients.
Experience in providing administrative support services to senior management.
Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
